Dear friends:
Thanks to my association with members of ilug-cal, I had been actively working in Linux environment for the past three years..and now at PDSIT, B.E. College(DU), we encourage all students to work in the Linux environment and gather more knowledge in Linux OS, C and Networking. During a recent discussion with Saugata Chakrabarti of NatureSoft, with respect to Embedded Systems development, he enquired if we could provide some resources like a Linux server, high speed Internet connection and a classroom for monthly/fortnightly meeting. Yesterday (May 16), we formally requested PDSIT for this resources and Dr. Purnendu Das, Prof-in-Charge of PDSIT, agreed to this suggestion. May I now put forward to all members of ilug-cal the following suggestion: 1. Let us change the web site and mailing list to a server in PDSIT, B.E. College with a dedicated IP address. 2. Let us revitalize the ilug-cal with more regular meetings at PDSIT - on Sundays the classroom is free and the transport B.E. College is comfortable and frequent with GL6, C6, C14, MS35 etc 3. Invite talks from various experts on OS, Networking, Security, C, Embedded Systems, Qt and other topics of interest, so that beginners could also derive value from ilug-cal association. I will appreciate it, if you could send your approval or disapproval to Indra so that he could decide on the next course of action. If agreed upon, we will create the web site system ready by tomorrow, and proceed to update it. I would very much appreciate it, if we could all meet here on May 26th pppplease! [:)] Please spread the news and come all together let us meet. Bring your friends who are crazy about Linux ... Regards and best wishes J.P. Mathew Member of Faculty PDSIT, B.E.
