Hi all, Sorry for this delayed response... first off all... I would like to thank Sougata and JPM who have been speaking to me abt these things for sometime now... all thanks to Sougata in initiating the process and PDSIT to offer its facilities.
It's great to finally have a proper support structure in place for the venue and seminars... darn good job folks for pulling this one off... finally someone has shown some real initiative!!! With respect to the meeting on 26th I would request JPM to chair it... no doubt he has the full credit for pushing this one thru and deserves a solid vote of thanks from the LUG. JPM: Please post the agenda and the Meeting Venue details along with directions to get there... seems like there is some confusion w.r.t to timings and all... All: Lets setup an IRC server, a debian (or any other) mirror on the PDSIT IP address as was suggested by Sougata... this will be really good... JPM: I believe the PDSIT has CD burners available... we can really do some serious downloads using the available pipe (the last time I was there PDSIT was having a 128kbps link... whats the scene like these days?) All: The website and mailing list(s) stays at there current IPs... there is no need to change them... we never had any downtime on the server these last few years... and Russell has been providing real good support... in fact we have not really been taking up on his offer to _really_ use the facilities on the new server he had shifted us to a few months back... hence, I see no reason to shift the present site. I have already intimated Russell that we would require some entry into the current DNS to point to the PDSIT IP... and he also have acknowledged to do the same over the public list. What we really need is the members to come forward... and help maintain the site on a much more regular basis... ppl who readily come to mind -- Amitabh, Sayamindu, Tathagata... etc. ...where are the volunteers??? signing off for now... cheers, --indra. -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
