As I have said, our schools and colleges have severe limitaions. I am
fairly sure I understand your situation; I agree with you that in your
case self-study is the only option; and, I sincerely wish you all
success in your efforts.

But the kind of problems you have with computer teachers is bound to
keep happening as long as we follow the pattern of computer "education"
that we have been following. These poor teachers (yes, I sympathise with
them, too) are most likely products of the "IT schools" which have
mushroomed all around us and ... its a vicious circle, really.

Any idea how we possibly might break out of it? That might even form a
theme topic in one of the lug meetings.

BTW, if this discussion is getting way too OT for ilug-cal, someone
please say so.
