The theory part can be handled by the book of CJ Dates (introduction of
DBMS) however the books related to IGNOU esp for CS-05 will be more to the
point

The best for this is PostgreSQL available with any linux distro, it is
basically an OODBMS which can handle all the stuff like foriegn key, nested
query etc. MySQL will do but nested queries and strict following of foriegn
key is not possible.
