Your cd problem can have several reasons for failure: 1) the CD recording itself - test to see if it works OK on the recording or similar system (also check recording protocol - that would be my first suspect) 2) the CD player of the desination (less likely) 3) CD program being used on Linux You seem to have a repeatable problem - if it is important enough you should be able to find a cause (if not a solution) if you persist.
