Your thinking is spot on. Lot of people are into improving & developing 
Linux, while this is important, more important is the spreading Linux 
OS, as development will have very little meaning if the OS itself dose 
not spread. More people should get involved in organising workshops & 
help in supporting them. This will go a long way in removing lack of 
knowledge & fear of OS.
