Hi ,
The things you have to know is IRQ , DMA & sample rate of your sound card ,
then open a terminal & give
sndconfig the follow the writitng , mainy it will try to detect your card then
try to play a sound file which you will not able to hear hence to properly
setup your card the system will wany the IRQ , DMA sample rate etc from you.
Another thing if your system is an older one ( P II or less) then it is okay
to have ISA/PnP sound card , if it is a newer one ( P III & above) your
vendor cheated you since now a days PCI sound card is used.
Also you may try ALSA to make your sound working , ALSA is Advance Linux Sound
Architecture go to www.freeshrpms.com & you will find the want you need from
there.
