Subject: [ilug-cal] Minutes of The Meeting That Never Was! ;-)

i'm sad .. such enthu .. such momentum .. culmination of the
efforts of soo many people ..

we need to be very careful, proper & right .. and do what needs
to be done .. or else we'll land up again with the status quo
ante (some meetings sometimes .. rest of the year blank)

i had worked really hard at getting a day of the month (2nd
sunday or the saturday before that) fixed as a meeting time ..
EVERY month .. naturally i feel sad .. when all the effort
resulted in a resounding success .. and seeing the ball slip thru
our fingers .. at a time when it would have been the best catch
:-((

complacency will get us nowhere .. fixing meeting times thru
emails to this list will send meetings to never never land once
again ..

therefore : we need ONE volunteer as a meeting co-ordinator ..
ONE back up person to that volunteer
and : we need ONE venue as a fixed venue .. with ONE more venue
as a backup venue
and : we need ONE pc as a fixed pc .. with ONE more pc as a
backup

minimum need !

if no one takes up this thankless job of co-ordinating meetings
.. i will have to .. and so i will too !

if someone does take up this job .. so that meetings result in
meetings ONLY .. i'll die a peaceful person !

this is serious work .. need of the hour .. complacence won't do
..

any volunteers ?

and please .. NO discussions on this subject .. we've had all the
opinions and comments earlier .. and the timings and venues were
finalised .. there is absolutely NO need for more emails on THIS
aspect

its for the volunteer-co-ordinator to deliver meetings .. and we
have plenty of venues lined up .. with transport free from a
prominent spot to the meeting venue too !

nice people don't mind/complain .. they bear/tolerate .. but THAT
doesn't get us moving or going anywhere

meetings are a MUST now ! period !
with tech content and other things too .. this is not an option
.. its a movement .. which is happening .. we gotta manage the
present well .. otherwise .. well .......

..pk
