And here's another, and equally cheap in its 3E edition: "The Unix
Programming Environment", by Brian Kernighan and Rob Pike. This book,
published in 1984, is considered to be a classic. (Like all classics,
some parts of it are a little out of date but what the heck! Most of it
is absolutely current and of excellent standard.)
