Hi,

I've quietly watching some v positive inputs/interactions on the list w.r.t.
study materials on Linux/FLOSS. There is a genuine demand for this
information specially from the new users.

I suggest we set up a SRG (Study Resource Group), with the purpose to
collate and publish information thru our website and periodical postings
(say monthly) on our mailing list, about the books/magazines/journals
available and/or useful for our purpose.

1. Listing of Books w/brief abstract comments/categorisation (e.g.
General/Programming or Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced or short notes on what
one needs to know to start chewing the book)

2. As effort as above for online e-books.

Can I ask the following members to come forward and volunteer to initiate
this effort:

1. Manas K. Laha
2. Rohit Vishal Kumar
3. Siddhartha Basu
4. Rajib Bhattacharya
5. Kaushik Ghosh
6. Partha Pratim Ghosh

NOTE: this list is by no means exclusive, others are free to volunteer.

The efforts of this group can be eventually augmented by adding on other
sources of information available online.

For publication on the website, Sayamindu Dasgupta will volunteer to do the
needful (Sayam, knowing you I've assumed this) with /me (Indranil Das Gupta)
as sdg's backup.

If this suggestion sounds OK to you guys, lets get this ball rolling so that
in the next 15 days we can have a new & useful segment on our website.

cheers,
--indra.
