that's about it, minus the point about obsolescence, which i didn't
think of. good point there. i can't see why re-hosting something at a
geographically closer location though it is already available for
download is going to be helpful for the hypothetical newbie, except
perhaps decrease his download time a little. in either case he will be
dealing with a link, whether it leads him to mr.kumar's server or to
rute.sourceforge.net.
