I know that you are new to this group but please pay heed to Sumeet's mail regarding the manners in this mail group.
I see that your email ID is <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Well nice to know your ambition but becoming Bill G, RMS or Linus requires a lot of dedication and HARD WORK. Bill G still has the confidence that if he refreshes his programming skills in three months he can compete with the best. Linux is not Windows nor is Windows Linux. Each has its own philosophy, it's own point of view. Every OS has its own design pholosophy, it's own marketing point of view. Just because seven magazines give rave reviews to QNX does not mean that you have to jump into QNX. Access your needs your requirements etc - before having the fun and games.
I see that you want to discover /develop something on linux which is not there on Windows. Well to put the horse before the cart - Windows has lots of things to discover / develop which Linux and Unix have taken for granted for ages. For example - Crash Protection, Document Formatting etc. Perhaps you should start off with some background reading as suggested by sumeet...
