Hi, cnet http://news.com.com/2100-1001-211135.html?legacy=cnet
has some stories on the antitrust cases that were being brought against microsoft by Texas, among other states. The reasons given for Texas dropping the case are interesting (that it would hurt other computer software companies) The philosophy behind anti trust (which to me seems very sound) is summarised at http://www.law.cornell.edu/topics/antitrust.html I don't know about the present situation in India and West Bengal (after dereg), but I guess most of the big government corporations would fall in this category ! -kg On Mon, 17 Mar 2003, Indranil Das Gupta wrote: > Hi all, > > A Bill has been placed before the Texas (USA) State Senate by senator John > Corona, asking the TX govt to consider OSS and Open Standards while considering > purchase of software by the state govt.
