Gah - I don't think I'll flash my BIOS at this stage. > > http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/Fedora-Core-on-Thinkpad-X40/ > http://johnleach.co.uk/documents/thinkpadx40/index.html > > Did help. But these are for IBM. You, I believe have a Compaq. > Yep. > http://softwaresuspend.berlios.de/features.html : is a good read. > That's already working in my box. What it does is it suspends to the hard disk, and power downs entirely - which means that resuming takes a considerable amount of time (I have to go through the BIOS POST and stuff like that). In suspend to RAM - I can have things working much more quickly. I had some discussions with the kernel hackers from Intel, and they have been facing similar issues with S3 and HP/Compaq notebooks. Apparently, the kernel is hanging/halting after performing the first few operations needed for entering S3. I'll let you know if I can get this to work. -sdg- -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
