Hi Vijay,

Beats me, why would anyone want to do this? Well, if you are using
dial-up you would not be able to recieve any mail whenever you are
disconnected. Also, you would not have a consistent ip, let alone a
domain. I think it would be best, if you could tell us why you wish
to avoid your isp, and why is it that you want such a thing?

First of all, why I want to do this...... well, one of the free POP mail account which I use... do allow me to have incoming server, but requires to have your own smtp server. while my ISP is smart enough to discard all the messages which are being sent with the domain name other than that of ISP.

Meanwhile, you could check up on dyndns.org and zoneedit.

Will, check it up... thanks.

Also, I was more interested in doing this.... because while setting up KMail, I got option for setting smtp server or select sendmail. As being new in linux, I thought its just selecting the radio button and starting the sendmail.... and I will be up :)) lolzz

Regards,
vijay

Good luck,

Anshul
