Members present:

1. Soumyadip Modak
2. Debasish Das
3. Smita Bhadra
4. P.K. Sharma
5. Anshul Khandelwal (late arrival)
6. Saugata Ghosh

In the beginning we enjoyed the scenic beauty of the
place for a while
from the roof at 12th floor in P.K's exotic apartment.

As par the agenda, the main focus of the meeting was
participation in compass.
Compass event is from March 11th (Fri) to 15th(Mon) at
maidan.
At first PK briefly stated the history of
ilug-participation
in compass 2003 (with 3 stalls) and 2004 (ankur bangla
presentation).

The main task is to get the money for the stalls and
the hardware.
We can bring some speakers like we brought Atul last
time.
We can even try to contact someone outside india to
come and be a speaker at COMPASS.
P.K almost assured that the central hall will be
available for
ilug-cal.
Based on our previous years experiences this time we
should be
preparing a handout consisting of ilug and Linux
related
FAQs. We are also expecting active participation from
institutions like
WBUT and other engineering colleges (like NIT
Durgapur).
At least we should try to involve such institutes in
some way.
Regarding hardware, our first preference is laptops
insteaed of desktops.
Laptops are easily movable and they are much cheaper
compared to what they were
two years back.
So any manufacturer/dealer/sponsor or whoever is
giving us the hatrdare should
be giving us laptops.

Non compass
-----------

Besides COMPASS, we also discussed a comparison of
using shell script vs gui.
One being more user friendly and the other more
flexible and powerful.

In the whole metting we had two/three rounds of tea.
(Special nimbu cha which
PK brought from his Keyatala residence)

The meeting ended at about 8:30 pm.

For COMPASS participation we have to held meetings
more frequently, at least once in
2 weeks of more.

Please feel free to add or modify any point.
