have you ever been asked for Username and Password
while accessing others shared folders?

basically windows98 dont check for any authentication
while sharing its devices but other OSs like WinNT,
win 2000, and even any Linux or UNIX architectural
machine with samba loaded as a server requires a valid
authentication. If you are prompt for a username and
password, then you must know the username and password
of that perticular PC that was created to share the
SMB network.
