A fascinating mail from Aswin. Myself is one of the few RF/Microwave engineers working in the country and I am quite amazed by the clarity of ideas of Aswin. (BTW there is a pure personal question ...where do u work/study? and on which field.) I am definitely attending the next meeting to have a lively chat with you.
One thing I should mention here is there is one very important aspect of connecting an Antenna to a Transmission line (in this case coaxial) and that is matching, which in simple terms is how good the Tx line is in delivering power to the antenna or how good the antenna is in receiving power from the Tx line. That is generally the first condition to be met when one tries to build an antenna and then off course there is the radiation pattern. Anyway perhaps I will be able give answers to some of the questions put by the members and will try to do so Arijit -- _______________________________________________ Find what you are looking for with the Lycos Yellow Pages http://r.lycos.com/r/yp_emailfooter/http://yellowpages.lycos.com/default.asp?SRC=lycos10 -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
