A fascinating mail from Aswin. Myself is one of the few RF/Microwave engineers 
working in the country and I am quite amazed by the clarity of ideas of Aswin. 
(BTW there is a pure personal question ...where do u work/study? and on which 
field.) I am definitely attending the next meeting to have a lively chat with 
you.

 One thing I should mention here is there is one very important aspect of 
connecting an Antenna to a Transmission line (in this case coaxial) and that is 
matching, which in simple terms is how good the Tx line is in delivering power 
to the antenna or how good the antenna is in receiving power from the Tx line. 
That is generally the first condition to be met when one tries to build an 
antenna and then off course there is the radiation pattern. 

 Anyway perhaps I will be able give answers to some of the questions put by the 
members and will try to do so
