yes .. me too .. not only clarity of concept and almost total control over
the tech's of what he's talking about, but also the simple, humble,
positive, helping attitude .. an asset in any group .. let's lend him a bit
of support so that he can continue 'informing' and 'enlightening' us about a
very cut an dry subject of using high speeds for enabling ourselves first
and the masses next .. and the 'indian' self-respecting ability of 'we can
and therefore HAVE overcome' is nice

request all members .. to please 'add' to the discussion

i'll do a bit of hard work and cut up the other email into smaller topics
for creating threads which can be more easily be followed and participated
in

..pi I

(no oiling ashwin, you deserve the compliments which more than one (me) has
given)

engineers working in the country and I am quite amazed by the clarity of
ideas of Aswin. (BTW there is a pure personal question ...where do u
work/study? and on which field.) I am definitely attending the next meeting
to have a lively chat with you.

connecting an Antenna to a Transmission line (in this case coaxial) and that
is matching, which in simple terms is how good the Tx line is in delivering
power to the antenna or how good the antenna is in receiving power from the
Tx line. That is generally the first condition to be met when one tries to
build an antenna and then off course there is the radiation pattern.
