I am really excited to attend the next meeting.. talking to Ashwinda and Arijitda is something I just cannot miss...
Regarding this topic, I had spun off my own thoughts in a mail titled "..Broadband ? Huh ?.." where I had asked a few questions to clear my doubts... I was really disheartened when Ashwinda did not answer my queries.. but I will be there in the next meeting to pester both of the "moving encylopedias" with questions :) I myself used to think that the 1024 ratio held for data transmission until I read Tenebaum's book. But, when I learnt from the book that in networks the ratio is a power of 10 instead of 2, I was really embarassed that I had been ignorant about it.. But now I feel that I might have misinterpreted the information in Tenebaum's book - so I would really like to clear it once for all. Besides that, I am also interested in knowing why Cable TV uses cable ? Is it because antennas pickup too much noise whereas coaxial cables do not(at least so much) ? I just do not want to be another half clued engineer.... (On a different note, could you people give your suggestions/ feedback on my article on half clued engineers available at : http://www.geocities.com/subhobrotosinha/internal/mugmasters.html ) I may not be an electrical engineer, but I think I should not be ignorant of such simple facts. I just need you people to share your knowledge and put up with my ignorance... That's perhaps what an online community is all about ?
