Hello all luggers [sic ;^)], I can chip in on the updating of the website. If you need any logo /image stuff do be done, I can chip in too.
But first, *I feel*, we should have a referendum about what goes and doesn't on the site. What say you all? Also can we have a webboard/bulletin board (a la phpbb) on it, so that: 1) this list maintained on the web, so that even non members can go through it, but they cannot reply or leave comments unless they register 2) categorise the bb so that posts are posted under relevant categories/topics (unique or multiple) 3) those who want to, can subscribe to individual categories/topics to get emails for posts only under those categories and not all the posts 4) have a team of moderators instead of one, so that no listadmin need feel that they ought be despotic, albeit benevolent. may be a board of directors sorta thing (Indra, this is not a jibe at you, I understand your reasoning behind that remark, only that it was unfortunate that any listadmin had to feel like that. Nothing personal) 5) have online voting section 6) and all the other wonderful features of phpbb or the like (phpnuke, et al.) like sticky notes, closed posts, emoticons, avatars (finaly we will have a face behind the names I guess!) Just my "do kaurie" :^) On Tue, 1 Mar 2005 06:34:44 +0530, peekay <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > making someone maintain the website > (old news is bad for ilug-cal image .. refreshing is desparately needed .. > sayam should not be faulted for update delays .. he has done his best to > hoist the ilug-cal flag by adapting templates to suit our purpose .. > someone(s) need to be in place for regular updating .. most of us have to be > busy for bread and butter .. but i'm sure someone(s) do exist in our list > who will do updating or can be told to do the updating) > > ..pk sharma -- - Prem Hard work never hurts, but why take chances?! ---------------------------------------------------- Prem Kumar Aparanji M: 00919830631687 [Kolkata, WB, INDIA] http://prem.shaliniprem.com http://www.shaliniprem.com -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
