i had a similar similar problem after writing 13 times
a multisession disc and then getting read errors. i
tried windows based isobuster the files written by the
previous sessions. it worked. i don't know if there is
some way to solve it in linux.
probably the cumulative lead-in lead-out (or TOC
maybe) that is written after each session is in some
scratched or bad/unreadable area of the disc as it has
been handled a lot of time.
