i have not configured it as NAT box but the documentaion which came with
the modem says it has a web based configuration system (i have seen it. it
works ). the default ip is 192.168.1.1. so you need to set your network as
192.168.1.0/24 and set your default gateway to 192.168.1.1. use your
browser to open the configuration interface by pointing it to :

http://192.168.1.1

may not be necessary b'cse the dhcp handshake supplies all the information
about gateway and dns server. smtp and pop you need to know. visit
www.calcuttatelephones.com to get the details.

one funny thing is BSNL's DNS servers, 61.0.0.5 , 61.0.0.9 etc. are
becomming non recursive for the ip address range given to dataone ! and
nowadays VSNL DNS servers are configured non recursive for BSNL ips !
i'm running a caching nameserver to get rid of this. anybody have the
knowledge about the ip of DNS server BSNL is providing in dataone ?
