[1] Do you have IIIMF running ?
[2] Do you have the Lohit-Hindi fonts installed ?
[3] Can you boot into the system (graphically) in Gnome using Hindi as
the language ?
[4] Do you get a Hindi interface ?
[5] Do you have gedit and/or OO.o installed ?
[6] Can you input text (after booting into Hindi locale) in English ?
[7] Does Ctrl+Space provide a small blurb at the bottom left to indicate
a keyboard (in the language you booted in) ?
[8] Does F6 allow you to switch between keyboards ? (Take a look at the
blurb)
