Sayamindu & Others, I doubt AMD Athlon/Duron/AthlonXP/Sempron(socket A) supports CPU frequency scaling OR if nforce/nforce2 chipset supports this function either . I have been using both these chipsets and all of these Procs for a long time now . I believed only Intel P4 supports this . Are you sure ? Then I might try it . - Pinaki .

1. Mount an extra fan inside your cabinet. 2. If you have a nForce based motherboard, the latest 2.6 kernels include support for Frequency scaling on nForce based systems - so that the CPU speed can go down automatically when the box is not under heavy load. You may want to experiment with that.
