yes, VNC is a solution to do remote.... thing. long ago I tested VNC 
successfully. but remember the response time depends on the network speed 
( to a great extent). the remote machine should have VNC server and the local 
machine should have VNC client. *tightvncserver* is more superior than simple 
VNC server as it supports low bandwidth optimization and data encoding. also 
VNC server (>=3.3.x) is just equal to *tightvncserver*
