I have both the players in my debian cd-pack. let me try. actually I avoid Xine etc bcoz mplayer performs well with low resources. I could use it with PI+48MB without any prob -;) more over I am gradually leaving KDE and going for icewm -;) > > By the way what version of mplayer you are running.
