i got the tape .. but it doesn't appear to be NTSC format .. tried it on 4
of my cameras ..
all are hi8 NTSC format recording/playing .. it plays on none of them
if the original cameraman is around, he could be requested to contact me for
giving me
the tech details so that i can understand how to alter the settings .. maybe
its LP and
not SP (LongPlay/StandardPlay) .. tho i tried out both .. for playing, the
cameras (Sharp,Sony,
and canon) do autodetecting .. and even when set to record in LP .. they
play in sp (other
tapes used for tests, this one doesn't respond to videocam queries)
i do remember that NTSC recordings can be done at TWO different speeds ..
maybe THAT is
a setting that needs to be changed .. but strangely, in NONE of the cameras
is there ANY
mention of different speeds of NTSC .. maybe that is what LP/SP is all about
awaiting further input from your end
