I use speed=16 such that no miss can occur during, after writing in
high speed 52X, i found that some of my CDs were not responding during
md5sum checking. I dont know why, but after using speed limitation not
a single CD corruption reported in md5sum. Then lug-users told me that
there may be chances of of lesser miss. during CD write.

This is not for lug users, I think you are well aware about it, like
restricting linux files from windows access and vice-versa etc.
