Prosun, why do you limit yourself to 16X? With CD-Rs I've been able to
write at higher speeds. CD-RWs are different though

I use speed=16 such that no miss can occur during, after writing in
high speed 52X, i found that some of my CDs were not responding during
md5sum checking. I dont know why, but after using speed limitation not
a single CD corruption reported in md5sum. Then lug-users told me that
there may be chances of of lesser miss. during CD write.

May I suggest something: have your hard disk & CD-writer on different controllers. For example, if your hard disk is hda, make your CD-writer hdc or hdd. Similarly, if your hard disk is hdc, make the CD-writer hdb (I am assuming hda will be a hard disk). I have found that this actually makes a difference.

By the way, Prosun, what "magic" are you talking about there? I'm
extremely curious. Won't you elaborate just a little?

This is not for lug users, I think you are well aware about it, like
restricting linux files from windows access and vice-versa etc.
Hmm! Well, I see. Or maybe I don't!
