hit the delete button NOW .. if this is of no interest .. it may appear
  seriously off-topic to many/most .. it IS a looooong post !
  .. pk

(53yrs old .. age recorded so that some younger members
don't feel like trigger happy and fire salvos thinking that this
  is a school kid's rave/rant !)

}

we already lost ashwin due to harsh reprimands by "elected" listadmin

i went into a silent mode for months on end due to harsh reprimands too
and came back only after a face to face real world meet where the
futility of hostility made sense enough to re-start ilug participation
efforts in Compass2005

i believe using harsh words like 'idiotic' and 'drivel' and 'YOU have
spammed'
on a harmless (maybe OT to many .. doesn't look like OT to me for one)
well intentioned, bonafide, helpful warning by a self professed 'linux
lover'
is NOT the vox populi

and i am not sure about the 1500+ members .. is there a link where i can
check this out ? such info is public domain and all members would like
to know

i am sad that the website languishes .. admission by those in charge that
they have been sloppy .. apologies by them .. assurances that things will
be ok henceforth .. there are absolutely no other moves (the meeting venue
on web-site is absurdly shown JU where no-one meets now-a-days ..
the minutes are those of once-upon-a-time .. there are virtually no
fresh posts .. and i dunno if there is a log of how many of the 1500+
members visit the site)

for the records .. one person's impressions, feelings, sentiments about
a group of students, other similar events appear OT to me .. if all are
allowed to post their 'experiences' .. their 'feelings' we will have an
avalanche of posts of the 'other' kind

for the records, cajoling ashwin to come back, kudos about his being
a fine guy did NOT bring him back .. he is working on fedora (given
by a fellow member of this group) .. and has been integrating the rural
with the others, etc .. but we will never know .. just because of
harsh rappings on his knuckles on 'some' purported OT thread which
he had NOT started (k-antenna by the members of THIS 'linux' group
for making wi-fi network successful over longer distances on linux
platform)

'some' members strongly support strong/stern/harsh ruling by listadmin

i strongly doubt that the vast majority does .. we need a vote by all to
determine such things .. but then where is the voting, or when did it
happen either ? where are the elections, or the records of elections

..pk

(sorry for the loooooong email)
