hi,
these are the possibilities why yournt getting
internet:
1. your machine is behind a firewall not allowing you
to access external network.
2. The routing table in your OS may be not correctly
configured.
3. badly configured or misconfigured DNS in your
workstation.

contact your sys.admn there.
