Nice coincidence that at the last Linux-Adda held at Arin's office, we
had a brief discussion on geo-spatial modeling. :)

The suggestion is interesting, and its something I would like to
contribute to if something like this gets underway.

I have a few basic open questions that I have listed out:

1) What purpose(s) will it serve?

2) Who will be its target users?

3) Where is the mapping data going to come from?

4) Is the map/model going to be 2D or 3D?

5) What will be the resolution of such a map?

6) Are we talking about a Google Maps type web-service platform?

cheers,
-indra
