Attention computer science students, here's your chance to win an
international or national internship with Red Hat, world's leading open
source and Linux provider, plus prizes ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 2
lakhs through its `Lord of the Code' contest.

You have to develop high quality open source software either
individually or in groups not exceeding five. The experts pose eight
challenges and contestants have to write code to demonstrate original
thinking.

Eight challenges

To test your expertise, you may be asked to develop accounting and micro
credit applications or a mini ERP for small and medium scale companies.
You could also evolve a Geographical Information Systems or
conceptualise open source Enterprise Application Integration (EAI)
frameworks.

Another challenge would be to develop embedded Linux applications smart
cards, cell phones and general appliances.

Others include developing convergence applications such as audio/video
applications like VoIP, Internet telephony, feature recognition, and
text-to-speech.

Running into its second year now, this contest connects global experts
in open source philosophy with the upcoming and innovative student
community.

Eligibility

Students of B.E, B.Tech, B.Sc (IT, Comp. Science), B.C.A., M.C.A., M.Sc
(IT, Comp. Science) and M.Tech students from Indian colleges can
participate in the programme. So, what are you waiting for, the last
date for submitting an online project proposal is October 15. Get your
