Hello Friends This is the listing from 'fdisk -l' on my machine:
<< Disk /dev/hda: 40.0 GB, 40060403712 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 4870 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 * 1 1959 15735636 c W95 FAT32 (LBA) /dev/hda2 1960 4871 23385789+ f W95 Ext'd (LBA) Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary. /dev/hda5 1960 1972 104391 83 Linux /dev/hda6 1973 2005 265041 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/hda7 2006 3311 10490413+ 83 Linux /dev/hda8 3312 4871 12525849 83 Linux Disk /dev/hdb: 40.0 GB, 40060403712 bytes 16 heads, 63 sectors/track, 77622 cylinders Units = cylinders of 1008 * 512 = 516096 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System >> Actually the Partition Table of /dev/hdb is exactly identical to the /dev/hda. On Fat32 /dev/hda1 MSW-ME was installed, on Ext3 /dev/hda5 was the /boot of SuSE 9.2, on /dev/hda6, the first swap, and on XFS /dev/hda7 was the / of SuSE. And on /dev/hdb, the first one hdb1 was Fat32, Ext3 hdb5 was /boot for Ubuntu, hdb6 was the second swap, and XFS hdb7 was the / for Ubuntu. And both hda8 and hdb8 were XFS data partitions. Now to try out the OOo 2 Bangla on MSW platform i installed one MSW-XP on the /dev/hda1, replacing the MSW-ME. Now, both the SuSE, working from hda7 and MSW-XP working from hda1 are OK, but, just after the installation, the Partition Table of /dev/hdb has got corrupted, as shown in the beginning from 'fdisk -l'. Till now i have not tried doing anything on it lest it gets worse. Does anyone have any suggestion how to revive this Partition Table? dipankar das -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
