Dear A Mani

'rescue' in parted was reporting no partition. But, i think, it is due to some 
problem in the HW, it happened once earlier too, with this same second HD. 
That time i lost all the data. Maybe testdisk reads the HW in a different way 
that works with this faulty HW.  And you told of some rescue CD-s loaded with 
utilities like that. Long back when i worked in MSW enviroments, i saw things 
like Partition Magic, but things like that are available in Linux too? I 
always use the first CD of a distro (SuSE or FC or Mdk) for the rescue 
purpose. Can you give me some links?
