There are five partitions including a swap. The partiton that is mounting automatically is the last partition, which was refusing to mount after the Mandriva install. At that time the other two partitions were mounting automatically. I ran "chkdsk" from Windows CD and it fixed the last partition and it then mounted automatically. But, some how, the other two ntfs partitions, which was mounting earlier, then refused to mount automatically. It mounted when I manually mount them on the terminal. As I'm not an expert, I didn't try anything else, but added two mount commands to the init's local startup script.
I'm not trying to recover anything from the corrupted partition. I just want to know whether there is a provision in fsck to fix a corrupted NTFS partition. I read its manual page, but can't find one. Once again, Thanks. Regards, Ansal.
