try configuring the network first and then connect it. i am using fedora i
havn't had any problem till now.
sometimes its better to call the dataline customer care and tell them the
issue which may be caused of the different mac id of the modem.

i had this problem one time, and when i called them.they resetted the mac id
of the modem to solve the issue.This type of problem usually pop up
when we migrate from one os to another.
