Hi, There is not enough detail to suggest a final solution. However, you can check this first- Open up the ALSA mixer panel (double click the speaker icon on the notification area on top panel). Then make sure that volume controls for 'Master', 'PCM' and 'Front' are all set to maximum. When 'PCM' control is at lowest, it often gives out some crackling sound when any audio is playing.
