google for applet tag To see applet in firefox you need to add install java plugin for firefox which can be done by creating a symbolic link to the libjavaplugin_oji.so which is inside <<JDK install folder>> /jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
restart firefox. in addons>plugins>you should see java plugin.
