I wanted to install jaunty in a PC with no internet connectivity and
slightly dated hardware (Celeron 900 MHz, 256 MB RAM ). Since internet
is no there , I downloaded DVD image, burnt it and started
installation. After that I wanted to install VLC, Icewm etc.,. I
popped in DVD again and gave sudo apt-get install for the above two.
No, it is not there in the DVD. None of the other lightweight WM's too
(black box, fluxbox). XFCE also not there.

SLightly disappointed , I deleted Jaunty and installed Deb 5.0. In the
single DVD , I finished main installation and installed the above 3
also apart from Brasero and s few others.

I wonder , what stuff is there in the DVD in which very commonly used
software is not available?

Would welcome the views of others
