>> To Sasi Kumar
You are correct about free software, the movement , the philosophy.
Also its true about the freedom the user get by using free softwares.

what I think is that people use Free Softwares not entirely because
of these philosophies.
[ I found lot of advantages [ including but not limited to cost] in
using GNU/Linux and thats why I am using it till now(An year now,
never looked back to Windows ever since I started using Ubuntu.)]

I give my whole hearted support for the movement against patents ,
movement against restrictions in using technology. etc
But I am not entirely against non-free softwares although I am
completely against the patent stuff.

There must also be a provision for the user to use the software of his
choice. I am referring to a common user, a lay man, here. He might
not understand FSF philosophy, his aim will be to use a software that
enables him to do his job easily, fast and flawlessly.

So I believe its perfectly okay to have proprietary software alongside
with freesoftware in a society where we advocate for freedom.
>> To Anoop,
The analogy of milk and lemon i am not sure holds really good here.
However some times we mix milk and lemon to get some Paneer, and in
some case even curd :)

[
My utopian concept is that if I am buying a software, I must be the
owner of the software, owner of the copy of the software that I have
purchased, and I must be able to sell it to some one, for a price may
be, of my choice. :)
