if u want u cab remove the unused kernel images using synaptics. this
will also remove the unwanted entries from the grub menu. to do sogot

system> Administration> synaptic package manager

look for entries starting  with linux-image-xxxxxx

where xxxx is the version number. mark for uninstall entries that u do
not wish to use and click apply. this will automatically remove the
grub entries as well. be careful not to remove the most recent kernel
that u probably  might be using. this will lead to system being
unbootable after restart. the advantage of this method is that u can
free up lot of free space that otherwise were used up by the older
kernel packages
