As soon as you hit enter selecting windows, press F8 and select "Last known good configuration". As you mentioned its not that strange. Happened to me a couple of times & restoring did the trick. It may not have anything to do with Grub2. PS: Mine is stock Ubuntu... Ultimate OS might have bugs that causing the problem. Regards Adhin -- "Freedom is the only law".
