The following rules seems to solve the problem, although I dont know
what it means
ATTRS{idProduct}=="9e00", ENV{.MM_USBIFNUM}=="00",
ENV{ID_MM_LONGCHEER_PORT_TYPE_MODEM}="1"
ATTRS{idProduct}=="9e00", ENV{.MM_USBIFNUM}=="01",
ENV{ID_MM_LONGCHEER_PORT_TYPE_AUX}="1"
ATTRS{idProduct}=="9e00", ENV{ID_MM_LONGCHEER_TAGGED}="1"
I blindly copied it into /lib/udev/rules.d/77-mm-longcheer-port-types.rules
soon after below gien line
LABEL="mm_longcheer_vendorcheck"
SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", ATTRS{bInterfaceNumber}=="?*",
ENV{.MM_USBIFNUM}="$attr{bInterfaceNumber}"
got some help from
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/modemmanager/+bug/683996
and
https://forge.betavine.net/plugins/scmsvn/viewcvs.php/trunk/src/core/resources/udev/77-vmc-zte.rules?root=bcm&rev=608&r1=584&r2=608
Can some one please explain the meaning of rules written above,
amazingly this seems to give me signal strength also.
