Hi guys, I solved the issue in a much simpler way. Thanks to Joji for the reply which gave me this idea. Joji asked me to update the sources and download packages using script, in live mode. Then I thought, if downloading the packages is possible on live session, then I can use Ubuntu software center too. So I downloaded software using USC & created software cd using aptoncd. I booted live from pendrive & my system has 2GB ram which was too much for Linux. So everything went smoothly. Now my friend is pretty happy now that his computer was prevented from becoming an e-waste.
Thanks for the replies, Guys. & special thanks for Joji. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May the FOSS be with you... always!!! - Adhin ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- "Freedom is the only law".
