"dude, anything supports linux." should be read as "anything can be made to support linux"
obviously you should read up on the ubuntu hardware compatability wiki
wherein they categorize hardware according to their support under each
release of ubuntu. you will see for a lot of newer
generation hardware support is minimal.i still haven't got the TV tuner
card in my laptop get work under linux even after 4 releases of ubuntu [?].
installing linux on latest and greatest hardware can some time, i repeat
some time, be a lot of pain [?]. never make any blind assumption regarding
hardware compatability of any OS. case in point xp and vista had better
native bluetooth stack than windows 7
