Solaris Zones, OpenVZ, Linux V-Server. Linux Containers are special they will be part of every shipped Linux Kernel pretty soon. See http://lxc.sourceforge.net/ for more details. I contributed OpenVZ support for Libvirt mentioned by Rahul, although there is still lots of work left to be done. I believe it is a good project and has very good potential. Watch for it. There have been a few projects announced based on that, but I can't remember any names. It has bindings for Python, Ruby, etc. I also wrote an application called EasyVZ (GPL) that can be used to manage OpenVZ servers. It is written in PyGTK and has been downloaded more than 2600 times since it was released last year. Users are asking for many features, if someone is willing to help, please contact me. I don't seem to have enough time to even integrate patches sent in by others. It can be found here: http://easyvz.sourceforge.net Regards, -- Shuveb Hussain B I N A R Y K A R M A Chennai, India.
