Ambitious - true. But that is the novelty of the project :-) Yes local support is the key. We are banking completely on local support for the program. There are two assumptions here - the local community has to rise up to own the event in their locality and then ride the event to promote the local activism. What we are offering is an application framework and the APIs - communities have to hack their way in and create their own applications :-). Isn't that how Free Software Communities work. Like you do, I hope too that we will be able to get sufficient local support. Additionally we are hoping to generate sufficient not-so-local support to generate the buzz in the blogger community as well.
