So, it is important to protect the interest of the *company* and its
*investors* on the cost of not providing comprehensive tested software
for its end-users/customers? It is also the reason why closed source
products _can_ be shipped with loopholes. This aligns well with
proprietary software development and their *interests* :)

The advantage of having a large user base in FOSS is to get all the
feedback through bugs, issues faced, and discussed in mailing lists,
IRC et. al.
